gemmi-400.pngNDF PM Crumble is part two of a two-part dehydrated foundation mix (AM/PM) which allows maximum control over ingredient freshness and protein choice. It can be fed in the evening if your dog's most active time is in the evening or in the morning if your dog is most active during the day. This diet is designed to be fed with AM Porridge.

The Volhard Dog Nutrition Original Natural Diet AM/PM was formulated to exceed the nutritional levels established by the NRC and AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles for All Life Stages, including the growth of large size dogs.

Wheat Bran, Wheat Germ, Dried Chicken Livers, Calcium Phosphate, Calcium Carbonate, Brewer's Yeast, Dried Apple, Cod Liver Oil (Omega 3), Parsley, Kelp, Alfalfa, Dandelion Root, Apple Cider Vinegar, Rosemary, Garlic, Ginger, Vitamin C (Calcium Ascorbate), natural mixed tocopherols (Vitamin E).

Each dog is an individual with different lifestyles and metabolisms. The following are only guidelines. Before putting your dog on the AM/PM diet, weigh him or her. The amounts listed are for dogs that get about 2 hours of exercise a day. If your dog starts to put on weight, cut back on the breakfast meal, feed the new amount for a week, then re-weigh him or her. Adjust accordingly.

HOW MUCH TO FEED  |  C=Cup, T= Tablespoon

1.  Put Crumble into a dog bowl.

2.  Add protein and water

3.  Mix and serve!

Days 1-5:  PM Crumble, raw beef and water.
Day 6:  Instead of beef, substitute cottage cheese, canned mackerel or wild caught salmon.
Day 7-Half-day fast:  Rest from food to cleanse the digestive system. Puppies and older dogs are NOT fasted.

The Transition

Add a small amount of AM (veggies and yogurt) and/or PM (meat) to the kibble you are feeding your dog now and mix with water. As the week progresses, gradually increase the amount of the diet at each mealtime, veggies, yogurt, meat, and water as appropriate while at the same decreasing the kibble by a corresponding amount, until you have phased out the kibble. (If you are feeding the same meat protein for six days, you may want to feed another protein - canned mackerel or cottage cheese - on the seventh day.) At the end of the transition period, weigh your dog. Weigh him again after four weeks. Increase or decrease the amount you feed accordingly.

Recommended Protein: 80/20 beef.

AM and PM are dehydrated products.

PUPPY FEEDING GUIDELINES  (7 weeks to 7 months through teething)

Step 1:
Weigh your puppy.

Step 2:
Double the amount of food designated for your puppy’s weight.
Example: Puppy weighs 12 lbs - feed for a 25 lb dog.

Step 3:
Feed the amount of food calculated in Step 2, four times a day.
Example: Puppy should be fed for a 25 lb dog which is 1⁄4 cup NDF2, 1⁄4 cup protein and 1⁄2 cup water. This equals 1 feeding.

Step 4:
Feed the amount identified in Step 3, four times a day; one meal at 8 am, one at noon, one at 4 pm and the last at 8 pm.
Example: Daily amount equals 1 cup NDF2, 1 cup protein and 2 cups water.

Step 5:
Weigh your dog weekly to see change and/or weight gain. Gradually increase the amount you feed as your puppy grows.
Example: Puppy’s weight increased to 20 lbs from 12 lbs at the start. You will now feed for a 40 lb dog. Follow steps above.

When the puppy is finished teething, reduce feeding to three times a day and decrease the amount slightly so the dog maintains a healthy weight.

Around 6 to 7 months, reduce to two feedings following the guidelines for the weight of your dog.

AM meal:
Mix up enough for two meals, following weight guidelines above. Feed one at 8 am and one at noon.

PM meal:
Mix up enough at 4 pm to make two meals. Feed one at 4 pm and the other at 8 pm.

PM crumble

So easy to prepare. So much better for them then dry kibble. I am very happy with it as are my 3 fur babies.

My dogs like this food and eat it right up! Also it is very easy to prepare just adding the protein and water to it.
