Build a Bowl
Every dog is special. But it’s not just their personality. Every dog has unique nutrition needs based on their breed, size, shape, activity level and many other factors. The best way to help your dog be the best version of themselves is to build a healthy, balanced bowl that’s a combination of grains, vegetables, proteins, hydrators and supplements that are specific to your pet.
When you build a bowl here at Volhard, you will start with the choice of foundation mix. For better planning, it’s helpful to think about the dog you plan to feed and their issues first. This is where you can determine the "personality" of your bowl.
Build-a-Bowl is a fun way to find out what the nutritional value is in a bowl of Volhard! Then you will be asked to add a protein for a delectable super-powered meal for your dog!
Feeding Directions:
Prepare your dog’s bowl in three easy steps:
1. Mix NDF2 Pork with fresh protein (we suggest 80/20 ground beef raw or lightly cooked) and water as directed.
2. Let the base mix rehydrate (about 5 minutes).
3. Serve your dog a bowl with fresh and hydrating nutrition!

Each dog is an individual with varying metabolisms and activity levels. The amounts suggested are only guidelines. Divide the following daily guidelines in half for feeding twice per day.

WEIGH YOUR PUPPY WEEKLY AND ADJUST THE FOOD ACCORDING TO THE NEW WEIGHT
NDF2 can be stored unopened in a cool dry place for up to 1 year. After opening,
NDF2 must be stored in the fridge or freezer and is good for 6 months after opening.
The Transition
Add a small amount of NDF2 and protein to the current diet you are feeding your dog now and mix with water. As the week progresses, gradually increase the amount of NDF2, protein, and water, at the same time decreasing the current diet by a corresponding amount, until you have phased out the current diet. (If you are feeding the same protein for six days, you may want to feed another protein - canned mackerel or cottage cheese - on the seventh day.) At the end of the transition period, weigh your dog. Weigh them again after four weeks. Increase or decrease the amount you feed accordingly.
Recommended Protein: 80/20 beef.

Love it
Volhard has been an easy transition. My 11 & 12 year old mixed breed boys have been on this food for a year now and they have energy, they sleep well, beautiful coats, no vomiting, no diarrhea, no bad breath, strong teeth, reduced skin allergies...I could go on and on. We will never go back to kibble. Yes, it's a little more money per month but we are saving hundreds in reduced vet visits. And we have peace of mind. Thank you Volhard!

So much easier than I imagined!!
Our first dog, his breeder suggested we keep him on a raw diet. Well, that did not last because 13 years ago, it was difficult to manage the meals using all raw. When we got our new puppy, our breeder (the same breeder we had for our 1st dog), asked us to keep his diet raw and introduced us to Volhard. We pre package the ingredients, put them in the freezer to keep. When we are ready to mix, we thaw the meat, add Volhard to our storage container and mix up a batch which lasts three days. It is so easy and our puppy loves it!! Thank YOU Volhard :)

GREAT food!
I switched my newer pup to NDF2 from his regular kibble after his vet brought up concerns with him not putting on enough weight and having a pretty significant heart murmur. He was previously eating 5.5-6 cups of kibble per day and weighing somewhere in the low 70s. With NDF2 he is eating less volume, but has put on 5 pounds, has better energy and his coat has improved! I did a lot of research on which brand to purchase, and which was most cost effective. The $145 price tag originally surprised me, but after doing the math and adding the cost of the protein to be added, I am paying just about the same as I was when strictly buying kibble. Highly recommend!
