What makes Rescue Hypoallergenic?
The definition of the word hypoallergenic is "having a decreased tendency to provoke an allergic reaction". The ingredients in Volhard’s hypo-allergenic dog food exclude common allergens such as wheat protein or soya, thereby minimizing the risk of an allergic reaction.
Volhard Dog Nutrition did research across the country gathering data on food ingredients that cause dogs to have allergic reactions or sensitivities. This food was created based on ingredients that do not illicit these types of reactions.
You as the customer can add the protein needed for your dog including hydrolyzed proteins in order to tailor this food to your dog’s needs. This protein source can be changed as your dog’s sensitivities change.
These foods are great additions to the Rescue recipe. Besides being anti-inflammatory and hypoallergenic they provide a natural source of sweetness and flavor, which is much better than added sugars or other “natural flavors”.
