Build a Bowl
Every dog is special. But it’s not just their personality. Every dog has unique nutrition needs based on their breed, size, shape, activity level and many other factors. The best way to help your dog be the best version of themselves is to build a healthy, balanced bowl that’s a combination of grains, vegetables, proteins, hydrators and supplements that are specific to your pet.
When you build a bowl here at Volhard, you will start with the choice of foundation mix. For better planning, it’s helpful to think about the dog you plan to feed and their issues first. This is where you can determine the "personality" of your bowl.
Build-a-Bowl is a fun way to find out what the nutritional value is in a bowl of Volhard! Then you will be asked to add a protein for a delectable super-powered meal for your dog!
Feeding Guidelines Are Per Day
1. PUT NDF2 INTO A DOG BOWL
2. ADD PROTEIN AND WATER
3. MIX AND SERVE
DAYS 1-5 : NDF2, raw or lightly cooked meat (80/20 beef recommended), and water
DAY 6 : Use an alternative protein source such as mackerel, salmon, greek yogurt, cottage cheese or sardines in water
DAY 7 - half day fast : Rest from food to cleanse the digestive system. Puppies and senior dogs should not be fasted
Puppy Feeding Guidelines

NDF2 can be stored unopened in a cool dry place for up to 1 year. After opening,
NDF2 must be stored in the fridge or freezer and is good for 6 months after opening.
The Transition
Add a small amount of NDF2 and meat to the kibble you are feeding your dog now and mix with water. As the week progresses, gradually increase the amount of NDF2, meat, and water, at the same decreasing the kibble by a corresponding amount, until you have phased out the kibble. (If you are feeding the same meat protein for six days, you may want to feed another protein - canned mackerel or cottage cheese - on the seventh day.) At the end of the transition period, weigh your dog. Weigh them again after four weeks. Increase or decrease the amount you feed accordingly.
Recommended Protein: 80/20 beef.

Love it!
Our dog Cody loves the Pork and Chicken liver flavors and we love how easy it is to prepare. We did notice that Cody would not eat the oats in the mix, but within minutes of reaching out to Volhard on IG, we received a response and got super helpful tips how to get Cody adjusted better. We brought our Standard Poodle puppy home when she was 8 week old. We started transitioning her to NDF2 a week later. Initially she had some digestive problems but with the kind, patient help from Jennifer Carter, Volhard’s canine nutritionist she is doing well, gaining about 2 pounds per week. She is now 5 months old. Our dog has a beautiful coat, lovely personality, and is energetic and very quick to learn. I have been feeding NDF2 to my mini Aussie for almost 3 years now. I made the mistake of switching to another more commercial dehydrated food last winter for about 4 months because he was staying with my daughter for a few weeks. I figured it would be easier for her to only have to use one type of food. I started noticing his coat was not looking so good and he was scratching a lot. Switched him back to NDF2 and within weeks he was back to his normal self!

This food is amazing
I started my GSP Lily on this food a few months ago. Works so well she is at a healthy weight now. It also fixed her anal gland problem. It works so well that we no longer need to get her anal glands checked. She eats all of her food too. I tried multiple different kibble brands and she would never finish her food. She loves this! 5 stars definitely!

Finally She Eats!

NDF2
We have a Lab and a Dachshund mix. Our dogs were never as excited for their meal time as they are with NDF2 and raw protein. The lab is 3 years old and healthy. After 6 months on NDF2 her coat is puppy shiny and she has a lean/strong physique. The Dachshund mix is a rescue. She is around 15 years old and the shape of a rugby ball. After 6 months on NDF2, she has lost 5 lbs and is very active! We will never feed our dogs any store bought dry food again!
