Build a Bowl
Every dog is special. But it’s not just their personality. Every dog has unique nutrition needs based on their breed, size, shape, activity level and many other factors. The best way to help your dog be the best version of themselves is to build a healthy, balanced bowl that’s a combination of grains, vegetables, proteins, hydrators and supplements that are specific to your pet.
When you build a bowl here at Volhard, you will start with the choice of foundation mix. For better planning, it’s helpful to think about the dog you plan to feed and their issues first. This is where you can determine the "personality" of your bowl.
Build-a-Bowl is a fun way to find out what the nutritional value is in a bowl of Volhard! Then you will be asked to add a protein for a delectable super-powered meal for your dog!
Feeding Directions:
Prepare your dog’s bowl in three easy steps:
1. Mix NDF2 Beef with fresh protein (we suggest 80/20 ground beef raw or lightly cooked) and water as directed.
2. Let the base mix rehydrate (about 5 minutes).
3. Serve your dog a bowl with fresh and hydrating nutrition!

Each dog is an individual with varying metabolisms and activity levels. The amounts suggested are only guidelines. Divide the following daily guidelines in half for feeding twice per day.

WEIGH YOUR PUPPY WEEKLY AND ADJUST THE FOOD ACCORDING TO THE NEW WEIGHT
NDF2 can be stored unopened in a cool dry place for up to 1 year. After opening,
NDF2 must be stored in the fridge or freezer and is good for 6 months after opening.
The Transition
Add a small amount of NDF2 and protein to the current diet you are feeding your dog now and mix with water. As the week progresses, gradually increase the amount of NDF2, protein, and water, at the same time decreasing the current diet by a corresponding amount, until you have phased out the current diet. (If you are feeding the same protein for six days, you may want to feed another protein - canned mackerel or cottage cheese - on the seventh day.) At the end of the transition period, weigh your dog. Weigh them again after four weeks. Increase or decrease the amount you feed accordingly.
Recommended Protein: 80/20 beef.

My 8 month old Von Ruelman Rottweiler has been raised on this and she is very healthy with no stomach upsets. She is growing like a weed. What is even more surprising, my 13 1/2 year old Aussie who has had problems with Pancreatitis and bladder stones in the past is thriving very well on NDF2 and ground turkey. She has not had any upset stomachs unless she eats something else.

Using NDF2 for about 3 weeks now. Almost entirely cleared my GSD rescue, Max, from his severe, dry, itchy, flaky skin. It also cleared the bad yeasty body smell! His coat is so shiny and soft!

Best dog food ever
I was referred to this brand by a dog nutritionist. I used to feed my dog high end kibble but still felt that she was not getting the vitamins and minerals she needed. I tried creating my own raw diet but it was tedious and I honestly had no clue what I was doing. I was put off initially by this brand because of the price but then I realized the food will last at least 3 months and it was actually cheaper for me in the long run. My dog LOVES this food. I mean absolutely loves It. She is food motivated in general but now she barks at me while I’m making it to hurry up! It is also so easy to make for her and I no longer stress wondering if I am feeding her the right diet. Since transitioning from kibble to NDF2 our dogs have thrived! Our 9 year old’s teeth were not looking very good and I knew he would need a dental soon. Due to his age and health I was worried about the affects of anesthesia on him. I was amazed at how fast his teeth cleaned up after only a short time on NDF2! We also have a Frenchie; they commonly develop allergies and have sensitive stomachs, but no issues at all since the switch! Our puppy took to NDF2 with no hesitation and quivers with excitement when we mix his meals!
