Build a Bowl
Every dog is special. But it’s not just their personality. Every dog has unique nutrition needs based on their breed, size, shape, activity level and many other factors. The best way to help your dog be the best version of themselves is to build a healthy, balanced bowl that’s a combination of grains, vegetables, proteins, hydrators and supplements that are specific to your pet.
When you build a bowl here at Volhard, you will start with the choice of foundation mix. For better planning, it’s helpful to think about the dog you plan to feed and their issues first. This is where you can determine the "personality" of your bowl.
Build-a-Bowl is a fun way to find out what the nutritional value is in a bowl of Volhard! Then you will be asked to add a protein for a delectable super-powered meal for your dog!
Feeding Directions:
Prepare your dog’s bowl in three easy steps:
1. Mix NDF2 Beef with fresh protein (we suggest 80/20 ground beef raw or lightly cooked) and water as directed.
2. Let the base mix rehydrate (about 5 minutes).
3. Serve your dog a bowl with fresh and hydrating nutrition!

WEIGH YOUR PUPPY WEEKLY AND ADJUST THE FOOD ACCORDING TO THE NEW WEIGHT
NDF2 can be stored unopened in a cool dry place for up to 1 year. After opening,
NDF2 must be stored in the fridge or freezer and is good for 6 months after opening.
The Transition
Add a small amount of NDF2 and protein to the current diet you are feeding your dog now and mix with water. As the week progresses, gradually increase the amount of NDF2, protein, and water, at the same time decreasing the current diet by a corresponding amount, until you have phased out the current diet. (If you are feeding the same protein for six days, you may want to feed another protein - canned mackerel or cottage cheese - on the seventh day.) At the end of the transition period, weigh your dog. Weigh them again after four weeks. Increase or decrease the amount you feed accordingly.
Recommended Protein: 80/20 beef.

We have a Cavalier King Charles, at our last vet visit the vet said she is probably one of the healthiest cavaliers she has ever seen. She ask what are we feeding her which I replied Volhard NDF2, plus I make her pumpkin treats. She said keep it up her heart, ears, eyes and coat are all in excellent condition. I have to say NDF2 has made a difference in her health. We will not feed our sweet fur baby anything else.

Natural diet foundation 2
This is the best food I have found for my dog. She is just a country dog and a rescue but she deserves to have good food. She is thriving on it. Her coat is so soft and shiny. No gas or passing gas from this food. She loves the taste of this food and can't wait to eat it. I do believe it has helped with her temperament also. I highly recommend this food to my friends and family.

Seems to be quite a success! My dog loves it! Bodie is a 95 lb yellow English lab and the best dog we have ever had! I want the best for him. He is 5 yrs old. I will say after about a week and a few days I noticed an unbelievable difference in Bodie's coat! It went from coarse, to soft almost silk-like!!! Started with Volhard because our breeder uses it. So far so good. Instructions make sense. My puppy eats most of her meals every time. Affordable and shipped quickly.

Wish I had found this years ago!
I could not be happier to have found Volhard for my 6-year-old Labrador. I was spending hundreds of dollars every month and nonstop trips to the vet due to her allergies, but Volhard and raw have completely changed her quality of life. Her fur is soft again, and she does not itch or get nearly as many ear infections. I would much rather spend my $ on this food that she LOVES to eat than go to the vet for allergy shots that barely helped her. The cost and prep for raw feeding always intimidated me, but thanks to Aimee at Chalk Pond Retrievers, I saw just how easy it is to do. Now I truly enjoy finding fresh 'add-ons' like fruits and veggies to put on top too! The bottom line is if you are considering it, this is your sign to try it.

Foundation Diet 2
We have been on the Volhard diet now for about a year. Our two Pitbulls are very picky eaters. They love this formula. It is not too hard to feed. We travel quite a bit with our dogs and it is doable on the road. We have noticed such a difference in their energy levels and their coats look fantastic! No one can believe the energy our 14-year-old dog has. He plays like a puppy!
